Whistle is great and easy to remove for changing the fire steel. I like that it's highly visible and while I rarely set my knife down, it happens and the orange will help me index it quickly. I moved the whistle to one of the neck carry holes and added a little leather lanyard instead so less visible for the day to day.
Sharpening choils are usually missed and I'm happy to see them on the Scout and the Flicker.
Related to sharpening, I love having the hone in the sheath, very convenient and it's done a great job so far. I eat a heavy meat diet and I did find I needed to use the hone after every meal. It's a **** of a slicer, but the dinner plate dulls the edge pretty fast. That said, my camping plates are wood or plastic so using this with ceramic plates was more just to see what happened and it's pretty normal for most knife edges to get dull when I'm essentially cutting ceramic. That said, this is my go to steak knife now. Deadly sharp and so slicey.
I've been considering switching to a fixed blade for my EDC instead of a folder and the Scout does the job. It's a great blade length for most tasks and because of the great pocket retention, easy to draw and re-sheath. I have used both the Scout and the Flicker to open bales which of course both do with easy, some minor woodwork (I fixed a door jam with the Flicker). Both feather sticks well. Between the Scout and Flicker, one of these will pretty much always be with me.
