Fiber Light is slick! It ignites so easy. I use it to light my charcoal grill. Ignite it with my Scout Feather, scoop it with the knife into the grill, set the chimney of charcoal on top. No problem lighting it on a windy wet day out in the wild.
Starting fires is fun, but while camping you want to start the fire and move on. Fiber Light lights so fast, and stays lit long enough to ignite the rest of your kindling. If you have an OE knife or Firebiner, you should grab a few of these.
Recently started carrying a fixed blade in addition to an assisted folder and wanted a knife with good steel and the VG10 met that requirement. Really like the knife but not so much the sheath as received it was way too tight. When I realized what was causing that I fixed that and am well pleased. The clip (?) that holds the ferrous rod pinches the side of the sheath at the top, removed that and the tension is perfect. Well pleased with this product
I did love my fire starter. I purchased it primarily because it was advertised as a multitool carabiner that was TSA compliant, which would make traveling to hike and camp in various states a lot easier for me. Had it confiscated the very first time I tried to fly with it. The agent informed me that this is common. So, great tool for what it does. Donāt believe the hype about it being acceptable to fly with
I am so sorry to hear of your experience with the TSA. Both Firebiner and Fire Escape are compliant with TSA regulations and should not have been confiscated. We met with TSA; they explained our carabiners are āTSA friendly.ā Typically, TSA examines it, then recognizes that it cannot be used as a weapon and allows it to pass through without issue. They also told us that each TSA agent has their own discretion so if they personally felt it was hazardous, they could confiscate it, but this was very unlikely.
I purchased as a light weight useful tool to use when hiking or camping. I have not done either since receiving it, but I have tested it out and it starts my stove and cuts paracord easily.

I havenāt used the knife outside of the house yet, but it seems to hold an edge well and feels good in the hand.
