Scout Feather Adventure Survival Knife

What makes Scout Feather the best EDC knife and a must for camping, adventure, hunting, fishing, and survival?Ā

It's got to be that it is so much more than just a knife. Not only does it cut, it also sparks fire, sharpens in the field, and signals for help.

SCOUT FEATHER: EDC Drop Point Blade

A scout is prepared; a scout knows the environment and loves the outdoors. Confidence radiates from a scout. Welcome to the Scout Feather -- the ideal tool in the quiver of preparedness. This small and mighty blade cuts, sparks fire, sharpens, and signals.

That's four Elements of Adventure so you can Explore with Confidence!

4 ELEMENTS FOR ADVENTURE

CUT: Confidently cut with this small yet mighty blade. From camp kitchen to campfire, Scout is nimble enough to whittle, strong enough to baton.Ā

Scout Feather's drop point traditional profile and saber grind make this little fixed blade incredibly sharp and strong. With exceptional durability, Scout chops, cuts, and pierces with ease. It takes a beating and retains a razor-sharp edge.

COMBUSTION: Throw generous sparks by striking the 90-degree spine against the hex-shaped, threaded ferrocerium rod integrated into the sheath.

SIGNAL: Be loud. Be found. A loud, 115b safety whistle is attached to the butt of the knife on a reflective mini lanyard strung through the hex driver.

SHARPEN: A sharp knife is a safe knife. Hone the blade while on the go using the ceramic honing V notch in the sheath.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES:

DRIVE:Ā Tighten or replace the threaded 1/4ā€ hex ferro rod using the built-in driver. The sheath is fully threaded so the ferro rod can be inserted backward, providing additional purchase/grip in holding the sheath and striking the knife's spine against the ferro rod.

CARRY OPTIONS:Ā Multiple carry options make Scout Feather secure and accessible. The form-fitted, secure-lock sheath features a heavy-duty belt clip, specifically designed to fit 3/4" webbing (common size on sternum straps on backpacks). Secure it to your chest strap, belt, or pocket. Or wear Flicker Feather as a neck knife by threading the cordage of your choice (we suggest ourĀ custom survival cord) through the two larger sheath rivets. Scout Feather is lightweight (2.3 oz unsheathed, 4.0 oz sheathed) and easy to carry.

GIFT IDEAS:Ā Ideal for any outdoor enthusiast, whether novice or expert, for men, and women, EDC, fishing, camping, hiking, and bushcraft, stored in your emergency kit in the car or bug-out bag, so youā€™re ready for any outdoor adventure or emergency. Unique gift for the man or woman in your life that has everything. Give it for Christmas, as a stocking stuffer, or for any other holiday, birthday, Motherā€™s Day, Fatherā€™s Day, or other occasion such as a wedding, graduation or thank you gift for a coach, mentor, teacher, friend, or neighbor.

GLOW OPTION: Available in a fluorescent, glow-in-the-dark handle option with GLOW whistle as well.

What's in a name?Ā

Why is there a theme of feathers in the naming of the knives? Along with being lightweight and beautiful like these knives, feathers hearken back to my Native American heritage.Ā  Read more here.

nice knife but limited pocket carry options

i really like the knife as it is well made. Perfect size for pocket carry. however - given that the clip only attaches to one side of the holster you have to do a left hand pocket carry. the right side has the clip on the inside so it wonā€™t attach to pants in pocket carry. horizontal belt carry for right hand seems fine but i really bought this knife for right hand pocket carry. wondering if a multi clip would attach to make it work on right side but thatā€™s another $15.

Overview

Generally excellent perfect size and set up is unique and functional especially in field camping etc.
4 out of 5 as a few features are problematic for left handed carry. I thought the carry clip could be adjusted for horizontal carry. The clip is super tight! A bit difficult to secure it to pants/jesns/belt.
It would be 5/5 if the carry options and super tight clip were adjustable.
However overall I like the knife. Super sharp out of the box. Feels good in my hand. The set is very convenient and the honing and unthreaded hex for ferro rod
All in all a great setup
Highly recommended both as primary or as backup application.
Well thought out ā€œall in oneā€ tool!!!

The Scout Feather ia amazing and costumer service too!

I fell in love with this knife as soon as I opened the box. dots great in my big hands and very sharp out of the box. The ergonomic design fits great in my wife's hands too. The hero rod launches big sparks!! I did notice that the knife came with different scales then the ones I had ordered so I emailed them and had an immediate and friendly response. After sending emailing Joe Brown a photo of the scales he said he was sending me another knife and that I could gift the first one. These glow scales are really cool and Im going to put the other in my wife's stocking. Thanks again guys for everything and happy holidays!

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to leave a review. We're so happy to hear that you love the Scout Feather Adventure Survival Knife and that it works well for both you and your wife. We apologize for the mix-up with the scales, but we're glad we were able to resolve it quickly for you. We appreciate your support and hope you have a wonderful holiday season! Happy adventuring!

Initial Thoughts

I purchased the knife to give as a Christmas gift to my daughter. I've only been able to give the knife a quick inspection, but the construction of both the knife and sheath appear to be very good quality. The knife feels small in my hand but I am certain in my daughter's hand it will be a great fit. I am considering ordering one for myself to replace the larger, heavier blade that I have carried for years.

Thank you for leaving a review for our Scout Feather Adventure Survival Knife. We're glad to hear that you found the construction to be of good quality and that it will make a great gift for your daughter. We appreciate your support and are happy to hear that you're considering getting one for yourself as well. Let us know if you have any questions or need any assistance. Happy adventuring!

Clip way too tight

Great little knife but... As others have said, the clip is way to tight. I tried to clip it to my canvass pants pocket I could not get it over the top seam. Then tried it on the waist of the pants and the flange inside the clip caught on the seam. Lucky I was home. Took off the pants and used a T6 driver to remove the clip and then slid out the pants. This is unusable at this point. What's your progress on the new clips? AND, will you send a new one to me for free so I can use this knife.

Thank you for your input. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the tight clip on our Scout Feather Adventure Survival Knife. As you noted in your review, we're currently working on improving the design of the clip. The original design intent for this clip was for sternum straps and webbing on backpacks. We have found it does work with canvas style belts but is too tight/grippy with thicker belts and materials (particularly with leather belts). But we hear you and the recommendations of others as well and the new clip design is in the works. We'll send out a notice when they're available. In the meantime, we hope you can make use of Scout Feather as a neck knife, or with the clip on a sternum strap, other webbing or a canvas belt. We appreciate your support and understanding. You obviously love the outdoors and we have nothing but love for you. Hope you have some awesome outdoor adventures ahead!
