CUT: Confidently cut with this small yet mighty blade. From camp kitchen to campfire, Scout is nimble enough to whittle, strong enough to baton.
Scout Feather's drop point traditional profile and saber grind make this little fixed blade incredibly sharp and strong. With exceptional durability, Scout chops, cuts, and pierces with ease. It's the ultimate camp culinary knife and so much more. Scout takes a beating and retains a razor-sharp edge.
COMBUSTION: Throw generous sparks by striking the 90-degree spine against the hex-shaped, threaded ferrocerium rod integrated into the sheath.
SIGNAL: Be loud. Be found. A loud, 115b safety whistle is attached to the butt of the knife on a reflective mini lanyard strung through the hex driver.
SHARPEN: A sharp knife is a safe knife. Hone the blade on the go using the ceramic honing V notch in the sheath.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES:
DRIVE:Tighten or replace the threaded 1/4” hex ferro rod using the built-in driver. The sheath is fully threaded so the ferro rod can be inserted backward, providing additional purchase/grip in holding the sheath and striking the knife's spine against the ferro rod.
CARRY OPTIONS:Multiple carry options make Scout Feather secure and accessible. The form-fitted, secure-lock sheath features a heavy-duty clip, specifically designed to fit 3/4" webbing (common size of sternum straps on backpacks). MOLLE compatible. Or wear Scout Feather as a neck knife by threading the cordage of your choice (we suggest our custom survival cord) through the two larger sheath rivets. Scout Feather is lightweight (2.3 oz unsheathed, 4.0 oz sheathed) and easy to carry. Now includes additional belt clip and hardware.

I love this knife as well as the fiber light! Both items are lightweight and work exactly as you'd want them too. Sharp, durable, lightweight, versatile, and the fiber light even works when it very wet. I first experienced them at the PNW Survival Games with David. He was awesome and the products were all amazing too.

Best “practical” EDC knife i have ever owned
Out of the box quality! This is one of the best“Practical “ EDC knives that I have ever laid my hands on. Out of the box sharp as a razor! The fit and finish are great. The ergonomics of this knife are awesome. For a small knife and having larger hands, i fell in love with it. It is everything that you want over the CRKT minimalist and then some! The sheath is also very well made, the addition of the ferro rod and ceramic (not cheap) sharpener are all great additions! For the everyday outdoorsman. I would recommend this small yet awesome knife hands down. I will be buying one for every member of my immediate family asap.

05/15 Missing sheath Update 05/27
This is an update on the review I did on May 15 for the scout feather.
The knife I had received in the box was not One from this company. It was discovered that it had been switched somehow, somewhere by some lowlife individual.
I was contacted by representatives from outdoor element and they cleared up the muddy water on the knife and the switch of the knife and I was sent the original knife with sheath with sharpener fire-starter and whistle that I had originally ordered. I am very happy, 100% satisfying and this is an awesome product. I look forward to doing more business outdoor elements. Thank you guys and gals awesome job,

first off, the knife is great. nice and sharp. sheath is much to tight, maybe it will break in with use. i can attest to the blade's sharpness, i wasn't paying attention while trying to remove the knife from its sheath and had my finger that was holding the sheath in the wrong spot, so now i have a nice big bandage on my finger. the sheath's tightness could be a no go for people with grip strength issues (or a bandaged finger :-}). delivery was unbelievably fast especially for USPS.
Thanks for the thoughtful review. We’re glad you’re loving the slicer feather knife and really appreciate your honest feedback on the sheath. It is designed with a snug fit for safety. The best way to open it is one-handed using your thumb to push against the sheath (near the back end of the ferro rod) while holding the knife handle—that trick usually makes it easier and much safer to remove the sheath. Sorry about the bandaged finger (ouch!). Thanks also for pointing out the speedy shipping!

Solid and functional. Yes, it is a little heavy. The nylon side is great for cleaning duty. The stainless steel insert adds rigidity and adds significant additional functionality. I want a stack of these to keep in my kitchen, my van, my toolbox and my shop! The towel is really nice and the sponge is fine. The scraper steals the show.
