This is the absolute best spark catching fiber out there. Without a doubt. Hands down. I used this to teach a group of 45 boys how to make fire with a ferro rod and steel and EVERY SINGLE BOY was able to get something started. It was awesome.

This is an update on the review I did on May 15 for the scout feather.
The knife I had received in the box was not One from this company. It was discovered that it had been switched somehow, somewhere by some lowlife individual.
I was contacted by representatives from outdoor element and they cleared up the muddy water on the knife and the switch of the knife and I was sent the original knife with sheath with sharpener fire-starter and whistle that I had originally ordered. I am very happy, 100% satisfying and this is an awesome product. I look forward to doing more business outdoor elements. Thank you guys and gals awesome job,

Great tool, thoughtfully designed, and makes real progress toward solving a problem most of us just take for granted—throwing away perfectly good aluminum after a single use. Some of the silicone tabs have fallen out of mine, but it doesn't really affect the functionality.
