The University of Texas at Arlington recently recognized Mike and Outdoor Element in their top 100 Maverick-owned businesses. Outdoor Element was ranked in the top 5 of 100 businesses awarded!

From the UTA site:

“As part of its new MAVS 100 program, The University of Texas at Arlington recently recognized the 100 fastest-growing Maverick businesses, highlighting the success stories in UTA entrepreneurship. “The MAVS 100 is a celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit that exists at UTA and that resides in our many alumni,” said Harry Dombroski ’79, dean of the College of Business. “It’s an opportunity for us to recognize these individuals, their accomplishments and their contributions to the community.”

Great knife

Picked one of these up a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. Im not one for writing reviews, but my boys have loved their fire flute (8yo got a fire going with the flute and accompanying tinder in a few minutes) and fire carabiner (with some patient tinder holding on my part, my 3yo was able to get a spark to take). I’m writing this review to weigh in on the change from torx to Phillips drive - don’t do it!!! Seriously. Phillips is trash. The build quality on all the Outdoor Element tools is excellent, and Phillips is incongruent with that quality.

We hear you on Torx being a superior drive head to Phillips. However, because we used T6 and T8 heads in the past, many customers (due to the size) assumed they were hex heads, used an Allen wrench, and stripped the Torx head. For that reason, we moved to a Phillips head for the clip. Thanks for your feedback and support!

I was looking for this adapter and had a difficult time locating it

I was looking for this adapter and had a difficult time locating it. Called Outdoor Element, left a message and recieved a callback from Shannon within minutes. She was so helpful and very pleasant to talk to.Mike then called me to follow up to make sure everything was taken care of to my satisfaction. You won't want to put this one down

I think this knife gets over shadowed by OE's other knives. The other knives are great, but the Contour is such an awesome compact tool. 95% of the time this blade length is just right. Fits perfect in your hand. I got this one on Outdoor Element's Whatnot.com auction. Came with this sweet engraving. Fits snug on any strap or belt. I use the whistle to signal fellow hikers who explored a different nearby path. Can't wait for my boys to be old enough for one of these. Don't forget to grab some Fiber Light too, its half the fun!

Great knife and great company

Great knife and great company. Already have a contour feather but needed a new sheath after a fishing misadventure. Ordered a new sheath and saw the adventure so ordered one. Fast shipping and easy communication. Sent another adventure to a friend and he is delighted. Overall could not be happier.
